still weird, but good

Posted on January 23, 2007. Filed under: Stats |

Remember way back yesterday when I thought it was weird that I had so many hits on one post (and a rather random one at that). The weirdness continued throughout the night and day, and has since stopped.

It did beat my last record (which was set way back in September) of 260 hits….now the number to beat is a whopping 414 hits!

The thing that is even more odd?

Exactly half (207) of the views were for the post in question AND the other half (for those of you who forget quickly, that would be the other 207) were equally distributed amongst anything else that was viewed.

Odd?

I think so…

Any explanations out there for this phenomena?

Anyway — thanks for the best stats day so far. I highly doubt I’ll beat that one any time soon. Or maybe randomness will prove me wrong again, as it has so many times before.

RSS Feed for Friends Keep Saying I Should Blog… Comments RSS Feed

i’d say it is pretty obvious that people were searching to correct their own msn deletion problem and your blog came up randomly cause it matched their search.

See, that’s the thing. This post has been up there forever and it’s always had good traffic, but nothing in the stats matched up to be sure these were all random hits from search engines.

I’d guess that MSN deleted a WHOLE bunch of people’s contacts yesterday becuase the traffic has completely dropped off again now.

It was good while it lasted.
