bournemouth, not so cool

I’m confused as to why Thomas Hardy loved Bournemouth so much — it’s not very pretty and is a bit sketchy, but he and Robert Louis Stevenson and Mary Shelley all loved it here. Perhaps it has changed a great, great deal?

I visited Kingston Lacy today — a gorgeous old estate home circa 1600s. And, I found free internet at a library to plan the more important leg of the trip to Stratford — I wish I’d gone there and not here for the extra day, but then timing with seeing the fam this weekend wouldn’t have worked out.

I’m also not as big a fan of travelling on my own as I’ve always been before — the first 4 days or so were fantastic and I saw so much and learned so much, and now i’ve had 2 days of just looking in shops etc., and wishing Brian were here. Or that we could connect at all! Haha! Stupid time difference 😦

I am really enjoying myself here though! Just a couple of not packed full every minute do everything kind of days that I enjoy so much. Which, I’m told, is what normal people do on holiday — they relax! I’ve tried it for the past couple of days and don’t enjoy relaxation all that much — I feel like I’m wasting so much time!
