a good visit, a birthday, and a nap
I have yet to dedicate any blogging to boyfriends, really, except for a few Brian tidbits — so more on that later. However, Cameron (who I dated for about a year at Queen’s) visited yesterday. He just quit his job in Saudi and is moving to Dubaii (5 minutes away from his parents, which is cool), so he was back in Canada before starting the new job. He dropped by yesterday for dinner and the night and it was a really great visit. My family is always excited to see him — really is an extended family member. He can still flip a fourteen-year-old Kevin upside down and fling him around; a feat that Kevin enjoys immensely. And it was his birthday today.
I remember the first birthday of his we spent together — I hid those plastic Easter eggs with clues in them all over Kingston and he had to hunt for them all, visiting friends along the way and ending up at my house for dinner. It was a lot of fun — damn I’m a good girlfriend.
The last time I saw him on his birthday he was in Victoria visiting his old housemate and my friend Dustin, and I was also going to be visiting Dustin. They picked me up at the bus station (coming in from Cobble Hill — after also visiting friends in Bamfield) and we got up super early the next day to catch the ferry.
Anyway, it was really good to see him.
The only thing is that I have to sleep in a different bed when guests are here and I can’t sleep in it at all, so I was up before everyone this morning, but was lucky to steal away an hour nap this afternoon. Since I’m feeling about 80% better these days, I’m starting to be worried than any large distruption could be a setback — until I’m at 100% I still want to pay super close attention to sleep and diet and supplements.
Now I’m off to watch movies — Happy Easter everyone!
