can you take vitamins over the border or will they think you’re smuggling something?

Okay — I’m sure that the border people can tell the difference between a drug and a vitamin, but I have to ask — are they going to pull me out of the line if they see non-descript pills in my bag? I have 5 different ones — 3 vitamins and 2 pills that I have to take at least 1 (moreoften 2) of each day or I just can’t function (thanks to the dyingness), so my question to you (as stupid as it is) is how to carry vitamins from Canada to the US? Anyone?

Depends on what they are. If it’s a vitamin in the us, you’re fine. Don’t bring tylenol with codeine, that’s a controlled substance here and it will be taken from you or worse.

Best bet might be to find a pharmacy once you arrive and purchase what you need here (in AZ).

Good point about the Tylenol. The problem with buying them there is that they’re each $30-$50 and there are 5 bottles! I think I’m going to risk it — Brian claims that they really only look for metal when you’re going through the xray machines. I’ll let you know if I get strip searched or anything though 🙂
