empty trains travelling the country

Posted on January 26, 2006. Filed under: Uncategorized |

I was stopped by a train that was crossing the road yesterday on my way to work and, as it was early and my brain wasn’t quite functioning yet, I was staring at each of the cars as they passed by, more than half of which that were empty. Then I starting thinking — every train I see has mostly empty cars. Do people really still use trains for transporting things anymore or is it all part of some CN rail conspiracy to make it look like that trans-national railway was a good idea way back in the day. I just need to share that I think it’s sad that I can only somewhat do one of the most low-impact exercizes known to man. I enjoy it and it’s fun, but it’s damn hard.

I was catching up with my old housemate from University last night and we realized that we have no idea where the . at the beginning of .H came from (remember, it’s not doth, it’s .H)… No clue. I have a theory that it was to differentiate me from her other friend who was just plain H because I remember that it was stressed that the . HAD to be included, but, for the life of me, I can’t remember the reason. How quickly the brain deteriorates after leaving school.
